Yalta is the most famous Ukrainian Black Sea coastal resort city, located on the scenic Crimean peninsula. It is located 79 km south of Simferopol and has a population ofYalta over 150,000. 

Yalta has a long and interesting history. It was first mentioned by an Arabic geographer, Idrizi, in the 12th century, as Dzhalita, the city of Polotsians. On Italian maps of the 14th century, it is called Healita or Etalita. In the 15th century, the city was leveled by an earthquake. And only in the past 70 years, since the Greeks and Armenians settled the district,  has it been known as Yalta.

Mark Twain spent time in Yalta during his youth. The renowned Ukrainian poetess, Lesya Ukrainka, along with many other notables and ordinary citizens, have been coming here for years to experience Yalta's renowned invigorating and curative characteristics and fresh sea air.

Yalta is surrounded by so many beautiful and interesting sights, both man made and works of nature, that you can visit and explore new places every day and never run out of things to do. It would be difficult to find any other city in Ukraine with such a diverse array of scenic attractions. All of the most famous historical and architectural monuments are close enough to Yalta that you don’t have to spend a lot of time traveling from place to place. During our tour you’ll:

  • Swallow’s NestTake a boat excursion to Lastivchyne Hnizdo, (Swallow’s Nest), the amazing castle built in Haspra above Auror’s Cliff. We're sure you’ll use no less than a whole roll of film at this site alone!

  • Take a 1.5 km gondola lift up to the top of Ai-Petri – the most beautiful peak in the Crimean mountains.

  • Take a historical trip to Livadiyan Palace, the former summer Livadiyan Palaceresidence of the Russian Czars. It was built in the Italian Renaissance style, with elements of Byzantine, Gothic and Arabic architecture. The Yalta Conference of February 4-11, 1945, during which Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin completed plans for Germanys defeat, was held here.

  • Spend relaxing days in the recreation sites of Crimea, suchVorontsov’s Palace as Vorontsov’s Palace and Park, one of the finest palaces and parks in Ukraine, built in the Late English Gothic style, with Moorish motifs, 

and Nikitsky Botanical Gardens – contain almost 28,000 types and species of plants, trees and flowers from around the world, some quite rare, including a large collection of roses, more than 2,000 different varieties.

And there's so much more to see and do, from sunbathing on the beaches and jet skiing the clear waters to exploring ancient archeological sites. For the adventurous visitor, spelunking in the many spectacular caves and caverns located throughout the area and rock climbing and hiking challenges await.
