Love Story of Svetlana and Gary

Svetlana and I began writing to each other in the summer of 2001. I've found her at Matrimus Galleries and she fit the profile of what I was looking for in a woman, intelligent, serious and of course very beautiful. Neither one of us had ever been married before. I order UkraineTour Agency Marriage Tour and came to Kharkov in October of that year. Needless to say, I was anxious and a little nervous. Svetlana knew a little English, the agency interpreter helped created a relaxing situation for both of us. Our first meetings were laid back, with an emphasis on “getting to know each other”. The following year saw a big change in both of our lives. Svetlana began taking English lessons Yalta Trip from UkraineTour in earnest and we increased our correspondence. I began exploring the next steps in our journey together; learning about the necessary paperwork for the K1 Fiancée Visa. Matrimus was very helpful in organizing the activities on her end.

We decided that we were right for each other and we were engaged in late 2002. This was the most romantic time for us. In August Matrimus arranged for us to stay one week in Yalta!

Ukrainian fiancee - Svetlana It was a perfect time to visit, for this was at the peak of the tourist season. Every night we had our choice of well-known performers from Russia to see. During the day we had excursions with UkraineTour agents Sasha and Natasha, they made us feel so at home. We will not soon forget the picnic we enjoyed after our excursion on a small yacht in the Black Sea. The water was very clear, and at one point everyone jumped in for a swim.

After two months, in October 2002 I came to Ukraine a third time, because I didn’t have time to meet Svetlana’s mother. Then we decided to go to Yalta a second time. While we met two friends and we had a very good time. When we came back to Kharkov I met Svetlana’s mother.

Wedding. Matrimus Agency Our engagement lasted a long time, more than a year. When the time came for Svetlana to come to the United States, she had greatly improved her English and was able to converse with Americans. Svetlana finally arrived in September 2003, not a moment too soon! Of course there was an adjustment period, due to the typical culture difference in cuisine and finding other friends from Ukraine. We had a civil marriage first, in October.

We had a very big and beautiful wedding in December 2003., and by that time we had met many Russian-speaking friends who were able to come to our wedding.

Now we look forward to the future together as husband and wife.
